Meet the person behind Simplicite

Hey, y’all.

I’d love to be able to impress you by listing off a long list of achievements and
successes. My story is different though.

I grew up in a family of musicians and athletes, half of which are Baylor graduates (pray for us). I went to school and took my shot at business fully believing that I was more likely to conquer life than not. And as it turned out, the world was just waiting to eat me up.

About a decade ago I experienced a crippling financial and relational upheaval that I simply wasn’t prepared for. I also wasn’t sure I’d ever recover from it. I plunged into the depths of anxiety and depression, which stole all of the energy that I needed to try to climb out of the hole that I was suddenly in.

That season of my life had a tremendous impact on how I see and move in the world. I can’t possibly claim not to know what it’s like to need help. From attorneys to counselors to friends and to family… there were some extremely helpful people that genuinely cared for me. There were also some that appeared to care at first, but they actually didn’t.

So, when I built this company I didn’t hire “money people” like bankers, salesmen and stockbrokers. I wanted to create a team that would be able to join me on my mission to make access to property tax financing simple for Texas property owners so that they can protect their property and their pocketbook.

I hired nurses, cops, and even a priest (yes, it’s true) and taught them to be experts in Texas property taxes. And yes, I know how weird that sounds.

At the end of the day, we’re a team of people whose foundation is service to others, especially to those in need. While there are a bunch of cool things about our business that are unique and different, I consider that to be the most significant one.

No matter whether you find yourself in need of a little bit of help or a lot, we’re here for you. We care because caring is all that we know. The authentic support of others got me through the toughest time in my life. My team and I are now here to pay it forward.
